The Real Housewives of Nairobi is HERE!!!

East Africa is getting its own version of the widely popular reality show franchise The Real Housewives, with editions that have already been featured in countries like Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lagos and Abuja. Airing on the on-demand streaming platform Showmax from 23rd February The Real Housewives of Nairobi is expected to be an interesting peek into the lives of Nairobi’s urbanite females.

The upcoming Real Housewives of Nairobi series is expected to keep viewers compulsively engaged, due to the endless dramas that unfold each Thursday. The series puts five extraordinary leading Kenyan female figures from spheres of media, entertainment and business under the microscope, depicting their involved lives according to the classic tropes of the franchise.

D&R Studios, an East African enterprise, brings us The Real Housewives franchise granted to NBCUniversal Formats as a format. Let’s take a closer look at the starlets who will surely capture our imaginations for the next couple of months. 

Sonal Maherali

Sonal Maherali is a well-known Kenyan fashion collector, luxury influencer, and businesswoman. She is known for her exquisite taste in fashion and luxury goods and has been recognized for her contributions to the fashion industry in Kenya. Minne Kariuki

Minne Kariuki is a popular Kenyan actress and entrepreneur. Prior to her acting career, she had been employed as a host at KBC, where she worked on a televised program focused on youth in agriculture. She has since become well-known for her acting talent and is renowned for her role as Maria in the Showmax Original hit drama series Single Kiasi. Susan Kaittany

Susan Kaittany is a Kenyan entrepreneur, former model, and lawyer who is famous for being the CEO of Posh Palace, a leading beauty parlour in Nairobi, Kenya. Born and raised in Kenya, she obtained her law degree from the University of Nairobi. Lisa Christofferesen

Lisa Christoffersen is an interior designer and luxury safari travel aficionado based in Nairobi, Kenya. She is known for her distinctively African aesthetic and her appreciation for functionality in design. Lisa was born in Tanzania and is of Danish nationality. Vera Sidika

Vera Sidika Shikwekwe, commonly known as Vera Sidika, is a Kenyan socialite, entrepreneur, and reality television personality. She gained fame for her curvaceous figure and lavish lifestyle, which she frequently showcases on her social media pages. In 2015, she became one of the main cast members of the reality show Nairobi Diaries, which chronicled the lives of Kenyan socialites. Dr. Catherine Masitsa Rozsa

UPDATE: Dr. Catherine Masitsa Rozsa, a veterinary doctor, real estate investor and publisher is the 6th Real Housewife of Nairobi! Dr. Catherine founded Samantha’s Bridal, which is an East African wedding media enterprise accredited with a TV series, luxury bridal events and wedding planning. What’s more, Dr. Catherine recently set up Samantha Wines and has a champagne brand coming soon.
