COMING SOON: Wakanda Forever

With the success of Black Panther, ideas for another film began after its release in February 2018. These plans were however temporarily put on hold in August 2020 when Black Panther’s main character Chadwick Boseman died from colon cancer, with Marvel choosing not to recast his role of T’Challa. Chadwick Boseman’s brother, Derrick Boseman has spoken out against the idea of retiring the character of T’Challa rather than recasting. He believes that his brother wouldn’t have been so egotistical as to wanting the character to die with him and would instead want the character’s journey to continue.

As we prepare for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the movie is expected to both pay homage to the late actor and expand the wonderful world he helped bring to life. The sequel, hitting cinemas on November 11th 2022 has Ryan Coogler coming back as the director with Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, and Angela Bassett returning as the characters alongside new cast members including Tenoch Huerta as Namor and Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams.
