All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is an exclusive music award ceremony that seeks to celebrate the music accomplishment of different artists around Africa. AFRIMA’s core values are fairness, authenticity, creativity, excellence, integrity and transparency.

The international committee of AFRIMA is made up of 5 regions which include the southern Africa development community, Northern Africa, Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, Central Africa and Western Africa. Public votes which are strictly done online determine which musicians receives an award. However, there consists a committee with expert knowledge and experience in the music industry that help to oversee the whole process to ensure the correct guideline are followed through.

Over the years, AFRIMA has been able to achieve different milestones as their focus remains intact, showcasing talent through music and celebrating artists who promote African heritage and culture through various musical genres such as Bongo, HipHop, Afro-pop, Afro-house, Rhumba, Afrobeat, Assiko, Funana, lingala, Highlife amongst others.

The awards are 39 in total, divided into two categories: regional awards (encompassing the five African regions) that recognize the accomplishments of African artists in their respective home countries, and continental awards based on certain genres.
