Thyme Essential Oil – 10ml

This is a 100% natural and pure essential oil of thyme (thymus vulgaris), grown, hand-picked and steam-distilled in our herb gardens at the base of Mt Kenya. It is of the thymol chemotype, with a woody, mildly-penetrating scent characteristic of the herb itself.

Thyme’s health benefits include properties that are antibacterial, antifungal, antispasmodic, rubefacient (assists in blood circulation), anti-inflammatory,  and antioxidant (prevents damage of the skin through oxidation) astringent and tonic. It also helps repel insects (particularly when used together with eucalyptus and lavender) and has astringent, and tonic properties.

Usage: Thyme oil has a GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) status and is non-phototoxic. To use with carrier oil, dilute 1 part of thyme oil in 10 parts of carrier oil such as sunflower or moringa oil and apply to your skin. The oil blends very well with our frankincense, geranium, palmarosa, lavender, bergamot, orange and lemongrass essential oils.

Use in a diffuser to assist with reduction in the effects of cough or respiratory tract infections.

Precautions: Do not use on your skin without diluting in a carrier oil. Do not ingest. Do not use if you have high blood-pressure or are pregnant. Keep away from children.
