The Best of African Fashion at Galeries Lafayette

In keeping with its desire to delight, unite and inspire, Galeries Lafayette’s Paris Haussmann store is hosting “Africa Now”, a collaborative pop-up dedicated to African design funning from 18th June – 8th July 2025.

Galeries Lafayette has invited partners CANEX, Adama Paris and Africa Fashion Up x Studio Ka to present a selection of pieces from today’s hottest African designers. This exciting collaboration aims to showcase Africa’s diverse cultural, creative and artistic influences, both on fashion and on society as a whole.

Designers selected by CANEX

Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) is a programme launched by Afreximbank to develop Africa’s creative and cultural industries and support fashion businesses and designers. CANEX has had a stand at the Tranoï fashion show for the past six seasons. This collaboration allows designers to showcase their creations during Paris Fashion Week, giving them precious exposure on one of the world’s most influential fashion scenes. 

Late For Work

A Moroccan upcycling brand offering a fresh take on everyday clothing.

Boyedoe

An ethical fashion label inspired by the designer’s Ghanaian heritage.

Wuman

A Nigerian brand committed to showcasing African artisanship and promoting a more responsible approach to fashion. 

WE ARE NBO

A Kenyan jewellery brand crafting sustainable pieces from recycled materials.

Designers selected by Adama

Adama Amanda Ndiaye is a Kinshasa-born fashion designer and entrepreneur. Among her many achievements, she is the founder and  producer of Dakar Fashion Week and the Black Fashion Xperience, held in Prague, Bahia, Paris and Montreal. In 2014, she launched “Fashion Africa Channel”, Africa’s first TV channel dedicated entirely to fashion. She also campaigns to support women entrepreneurs in Senegal and across Africa and to promote African-made fashion around the world.

A premium ready-to-wear and bespoke fashion brand based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Nene Yaya
A high-end accessory brand founded by two sisters in Senegal.

Adama Paris
The fashion label of Adama Amanda Ndiaye, who designs elegant pieces inspired by her travels in Africa and around the world.

Sisters Of Afrika
A fashion and accessories label set up by two Senegalese sisters to celebrate African culture. 

Designers selected by Studio Ka x Africa Fashion Up :

The first Parisian event dedicated to contemporary African fashion, Africa Fashion Up reveals the next generation of talented designers and showcases the creative energy of Africa’s youth. Accompanied by  Balenciaga, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann and HEC Paris, the selected designers benefit from high-level mentoring, international visibility and top-quality training. In 2024, the programme’s showcase brand Studio Ka organized the first sale of African designer pieces right under the dome, in Galeries Lafayette’s Paris Haussmann store. Present during Paris Fashion Week, the designers had access to key industry networks and got exposure on one of the world’s most influential fashion stages. Africa Fashion Up: a platform for promoting a creative and ambitious  Africa. 

Algueye
A Senegalese stylist crafting ethnic-inspired contemporary pieces for both women and men. 

Bandame
A socially responsible fashion brand from Côte d’Ivoire, with a focus on African prints and local expertise.

Collé Sow Ardo
An icon of African fashion, famous for her use of woven cloth and her commitment to the local textile industry.
